5 natural remedies for stress

April is stress awareness month. Stress is impossible to avoid; everyone goes through it. 1. B vitamins:
B vitamins helps promote cognitive and nervous system function. They are also believed to help with relaxation and fatigue. A lack of B vitamins may cause irritability or depression. Some of the best dietary sources of these vitamins are nuts, legumes, eggs, peas, and liver.

2. Lavender tea:
Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) is a hardy and heavenly scented perennial. It is revered in Provence (France) for its medicinal properties. It is also used in many beauty products because of its great scent. Lavender tea relieves tension caused by stress and reduces muscle spasms. It increases relaxation. Lavender tea also works well as a sleep aid, which is important for relieving stress.

3. Passionflower tea:
Passionflower is a climbing vine with lavender, white or yellow flowers. It grows up to 25 feet long, and bears a yellow fruit called passionfruit. It contains a flavone called chrysin, which provides anti-anxiety benefits. According to a study published in the Journal of Clinical Pharmacy and Therapeutics, passionflower extract was an effective medication for general anxiety, and it didn’t impair job-related tasks when compared to pharmaceutical drug oxazepam.

4. Sleep:
Sleep is one of the most powerful natural remedies for stress out of them all. With sleep, balance is important. Too much or too little sleep can negatively affect stress. A study published in the journal Cognitive Therapy and Research showed that that people with shorter sleep duration and later bed times are often plagued with more negative thoughts than those with regular sleep habits

5. Stretching and exercise:
Exercise can help reduce stress. Stress affects your body by restricting blood flow and causing tension in your lower back and muscles. Stretching stimulates your nervous system to reduce stress-causing hormones. Isolate the stress carriers like the lower back, shoulders and neck when stretching. Exercising can also help relieve stress by reducing the amount of adrenaline and cortisol in your body. Exercising also increases endorphin production, which are your body’s stress killers.
