There are new vitamins recalled for staph and salmonella. Pharmavite LLC is recalling certain Nature Made vitamin products due to possible staph and salmonella infection.

The recalled products were shipped to some major retailers.

The company notes that they are recalling the products “out of an abundance of caution” because it was found that some of the products did not go through proper bacteria tests.

Pharmavite has identified the cause of the error, is taking the matter very seriously and has implemented corrective actions to rectify the issue,” the company notes in the press release.. “Pharmavite cares deeply about the health and safety of consumers and we apologize for any inconvenience.”

Salmonella is a group of bacteria that is one of the most common causes of food poisoning in the United States.

As outlined by Foodsafety.gov: “Usually, symptoms last 4-7 days and most people get better without treatment. But, Salmonella can cause more serious illness in older adults, infants, and persons with chronic diseases. Salmonella is killed by cooking and pasteurization.”

Staphylococcus aureus is another type of bacteria that can cause food poisoning. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, retching, and abdominal cramping. In more serious cases, headaches, blood pressure changes, muscle cramping, and changes in pulse can occur.
