Best natural ways to prevent hair loss

As we get in our prime time, our hair  needs more tender loving care. Hair grows in cycles: It grows, rests, sheds, and hopefully is replaced by new hair. With this in mind, we investigated on ways to prevent hair loss.

We all know that when hair follicles rest more than they are replaced, hair loss becomes apparent.

We sat down with leader in natural and organic hair care, Robyn Atticks, Founder and CEO of Shear Miracle Organics (SMO) to ask her about tips and ways to prevent hair loss. The company launched the Tuff’N Up shampoo ($24.99) that claims to prevent hair loss.

Robyn shared that as we age our scalp needs to be stimulated. She suggests shampoos that have peppermint and coconut oil and cinnamon in them. Atticks also recommends to wash hair every other day and that two shampoos work better. “Combine with a good conditioner to get a dual action.  It is important to balance the proper PH and maintain a beautiful color,” she states.

For the best natural ways to prevent hair loss:

1. For healthy hair try to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

2. Eat real foods such as fresh organic fruits and vegetables. Look for organic & local produce to support your farmers.

3. Add foods high in Omega-3 such as chia seeds, nuts and Wild Alaskan Salmon.

4. Drink plenty of water.

5. Exercise.

6. Massage your scalp with coconut oil once or twice a week. Add a dash or cinnamon powder for an antiseptic effect. It will calm your scalp and alleviate any itchiness.

To stimulate blood flow to the scalp add 2 or 3 drops of mint essential oil.
