  •  Rosemary is an aromatic herb that has been widely used in Mediterranean cuisine. Rosemary for hair loss can be a potent herb to use.
  •  Legend has it said that rosemary was draped around Greek goddess Aphrodite when she rose from the sea. The Virgin Mary spread her blue cloak over a white-blossomed rosemary bush when she was resting, and the flowers turned blue. Rosemary became known as the ‘Rose of Mary’.

  • One of its most renowned properties is its ability to treat and fight hair loss. It contain phenolic anti-oxidant rosmarinic acid and volatile essential oils such as cineol, camphene, borneol, bornyl acetate to name a few.

  • Here are some tips to use rosemary for hair loss:
  • 1. Daily shampooing:
  • – Adding rosemary to your shampoo regimen is very simple. All it takes is organic rosemary essential oil from a reputable source and your favorite organic shampoo.
  • Just add 2 drops of rosemary oil to every ounce of your shampoo or conditioner and apply as usual.
  • – You can also use the rosemary herb instead of the oil.
  • Directions on how to use:
  • Place about a quart of filtered water in a saucepan and bring the water to a boil.
  • Stir 1-2 handfuls of dried organic rosemary into the water.
  • Note: If you use fresh rosemary, double the amount you use because dried rosemary is more concentrated.
  • Turn off the heat and let rosemary steep into the water like tea for 5 hours
  • Pour the mixture into a dark glass jar and store in the fridge
  • Use the mixture to make shampoo by combining 1/4 cup of it with 1 cup of liquid unscented castile liquid soap.
  • 2. Massage:
  • A daily massage with rosemary oil can help stimulate hair growth. Add two drops of rosemary oil to one ounce of organic coconut oil. Rub into scalp 3 minutes before showering.
  • 3. Hot oil treatment (1-2 times a week):
  • A hot oil treatment once a week on your hair and scalp can fight hair loss.
  • Directions:
  • Mix 3 tablespoons of coconut oil with 3 drops of rosemary essential oil
  • Mix the oils in a small glass jar and seal it
  • Place the jar in a bowl of hot water until the oil is warm
  • Massage the content of the entire jar onto your dry scalp with your fingertips for a few minutes
  • Make sure to get some of the oil on your hair until the ends
  • Wrap your hair in a warm damp towel
  • Replace with another warm towel when the first one has cooled
  • Let the oils sink in for 30-45 minutes
  • If you want to keep it overnight: sleep on a dry towel to absorb the oil
  • Then rinse and shampoo with an organic shampoo
  • Use conditioner if desired
