The miraculous hair growth benefits of castor oil

Have you heard of castor oil? It may ring a bell, as it has been used as a remedy for many health conditions for many years, and is continuing to gain popularity amongst alternative health experts. Let’s look at the miraculous hair growth benefits of castor oil.

Castor oil is made by pressing the seeds of the castor plant, which is native to India. It is also now cultivated in the Mediterranean in countries like Greece, Egypt, and Algeria.

Hair products are getting more and more expensive nowadays, especially with boutique shops selling their own products.

Using natural remedies cannot only save you money, but can be healthier for you, because they are untouched and straight from nature.

Castor oil has natural antibacterial and antifungal properties. It is rich in healthy fats to help moisturize skin and hair. It is also high in proteins to strengthen the hair and vitamin E to keep it nourished.

The most popular use for castor oil is to prevent hair loss or to stimulate hair growth. The anti-fungal properties help get rid of dandruff, and the acids help stimulate blood flow on the scalp to increase hair growth.

Jamaican black castor oil is considered the most potent and beneficial of all types.

How to use the miraculous hair growth benefits of castor oil

Castor oil is very thick, and can be very hard to wash out — especially for fine hair. It helps to dilute it with another oil such as argan oil. What makes this even better is that argan oil has potent hair-reparing and moisturizing properties, so you get more benefits.

1. Simply mix equal parts castor oil and argan oil and add to a BPA-free container or glass dropper bottle.

2. Since it is thick, it is better to stick to applying castor oil once or twice a week.

3. Apply a few drops to your hands, rub your hands together to distribute the oil, and massage into the scalp gently.

4. You can leave it on for a few hours, but it is better to leave it on overnight, so the oil has time to be absorbed and to work.

5. You can wrap your hair in a towel or hair wrap so it doesn’t get on your pillow or bedsheets.

6. Wash out the castor oil in the morning with an organic and sulfate-free shampoo.
