A strong immune system is your number one defense system against all viruses, infections and diseases.
  • It is important to keep our guts healthy and efficient by eating the right foods.
  • Smoothies are a great way to do this because they are convenient, easy to make, and you control the ingredients.
  • Try to include more of the following in your diet:
  • Apples:
  • Eating good sources of fiber is key because it helps facilitate the body’s natural digestive process. One cup of apples contains 3 grams of dietary fiber.
  • Carrots:
  • One cup of carrots contains 3.6 grams of dietary fiber.
  • Garlic:
  • It helps to maintain a healthy and effective digestive system. It also gets rid of waste in the body, and helps stimulate digestive fluids. The consumption of garlic is also linked to the reduction of certain types of cancers, mainly gastric cancer. Garlic has antibacterial properties, protects DNA, and also helps prevent cancer cells from forming or spreading.
  • Ginger:
  • This potent spice has been used in China for over two millenniums to aid digestion and treat stomach upset, diarrhea, and nausea. Ginger should be used in moderation however, as too much may cause heartburn.
  • Lemons:
  • They help to eliminate waste in the body. Lemons also aid with nausea, constipation, diarrhea and parasites. Lemons also relieve indigestion and allow food to digest properly.
  • Gut smoothie recipe:
  • Blend:
  • 3 carrots
  • 2 green apples
  • 1/2 clove of garlic
  • 2 tbsp of lemon juice
  • 1 inch of ginger
  • Process ingredients in a blender
  • Make sure ingredients are organic
  • Drink once a day and enjoy!
