Lavender lemonade

Lavender lemonade

Lavender  is a hardy and heavenly scented perennial.  It is widely used in Provence (France) as a medicinal plant and in many drinks. We love its refreshing scent.

This lavender lemonade is the perfect drink for the beautiful days ahead.

Ingredients:

1 tray ice cubes

1/4 cup dried organic lavender

2 cups boiling water

2 tablespoons of raw honey (for a vegan version: use coconut nectar)

Juice of 9 organic lemons

6 cups cold filtered water

Directions:

Place ice cubes into a 2 quart BPA-free pitcher

Put the lavender into a bowl and pour the boiling water on it

Steep for 10 minutes

Strain the lavender

Mix the raw honey into the hot lavender water, then pour into the pitcher

Add the lemon juice into the pitcher

Add the  cold water in the pitcher and stir

Taste, and adjust the sweetness to your liking

This lemonade also makes a great base for popsicles.

Enjoy this lavender lemonade!
