  • “Anemia is a condition in which you don’t have enough healthy red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to your tissues,” states Mayo Clinic.
  • Anemia causes fatigue, weakness, and even fainting, low levels of certain vitamins or iron and blood loss. If untreated anemia can lead to hormonal imbalances. There are many different types of anemia, with different causes. The most common cause is loss of blood.
  • Make sure to see your doctor or health practitioner if you suspect anemia, as it may be the symptom of an underlying condition.  A simple blood test can tell you how serious or severe your condition is.
  • “You may be able to prevent some types of anemia by eating a healthy, varied diet,” shares Mayo Clinic.
  • Smoothies and juice are an ideal way to include anemia-fighting foods in your diet.
  • Beets:
  • They are excellent foods for anemia. Beets increase oxygen uptake in red blood cells.
  • Cayenne pepper: 
  • The potent red spice helps increase blood flow to combat anemia.
  • Lemon:
  • They are an important part of an anemia diet. Lemons help our bodies absorb iron.
  • Parsley:
  •  Anemia is often caused by iron deficiency, which may mean a lack of iron rich foods in the diet. Parsley is an excellent source of iron, providing 3.7 mg per cup, which is 21% of the recommended daily value.
  • Spinach:
  •  It is a great source of iron, providing 5% of the recommended daily value in each cup. Spinach remains a champion when it comes to nutritional values.
  • Turmeric:
  • Often called ” the Indian gold”, turmeric is a superstar spice dues to its healing properties and provides 2.8g of iron per tablespoon.
  • Wheatgrass:
  • It is an incredible source of iron. One ounce of wheatgrass provides 64 mg of iron, which is a whopping 356% of the recommended daily value. A true anemia super-food.
  • Blend the following ingredients:
  • 2 beets
  • 1 cup of spinach
  • 1 handful of fresh parsley
  • 1 handful of wheatgrass
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 a teaspoon of turmeric
  • Make sure ingredients are organic.
