Healthy chai spiced butter tea

Chai tea is all the rage now. It is delicious, and even better, it is packed with health benefits when prepared right. This healthy chai spiced butter tea is packed with potent healing spices and the richness of coconut oil and butter.

Let’s take a look at the ingredients in this chai spiced butter tea.

Butter:
It is packed with medium-chain fatty acids, which according to a study published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute has anti-tumor effects. It has also shown benefits in bone health, heart health, and gastrointestinal health.

Cardamom:
This spice is a star in Ayurvedic medicine because of its potent anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidant content. Cardamom has shown benefits in cancer prevention, detoxification, blood pressure, and more.

Cinnamon:
It is armed with antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-fungal properties. Cinnamon boosts the immune system, and fights germs and pathogens that cause colds and flu. It is a key spice for cold and flu season, and overall immune system health.

Coconut oil:
Coconut oil is packed with healthy fats and adds richness to this chai spiced butter tea.

Ginger:

Directions:

Bring 2 cups of water to a boil
Add 3 bags of black tea or chai tea and bring water down to a simmer
Mix in 1 tsp of cinnamon, 2 tbsp of butter, 1 tbsp of coconut oil, 3 cardamom pods, and 1 inch piece of ginger
Let tea and spices steep for 10 minutes
Sweeten with 2 tbsps of coconut sugar (optional)
