Homemade raw blueberry jam

This is an amazingly healthy raw blueberry jam recipe.

Blueberries are now in season and have many health benefits.

They contained antioxidants called anthocyanins, which are the compounds that give them the blue color. These anthocyanins help regulate the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory systems in our bodies.

Now, a study in China suggests that anthocyanins may also have heart health benefits. Blueberries are fast becoming champions when it comes to their antioxidant and cancer preventing properties. Combine them with chia seeds and you have a potent recipe!

So step in and make your  own raw blueberry jam, you will control the ingredients and know it is not packed with artificial sweeteners that are bad for you.

We know how beneficial to our health blueberries, chia seeds and raw honey are.

This recipe is a fast one and once you have all the ingredients it will take less than 10 minutes to make.

Note: This recipe is soy free,  gluten free, refined sugar free and pectin free.

Raw blueberry jam recipe:


4 cup fresh blueberries

2 Tbsp of raw honey

2 Tbsp chia seeds

How to make:

Soak the chia seeds in 4 Tbsp of filtered water for 1o minutes

Mix all the ingredients for 3 to 4 minutes using a blender.

The chia gel will give the jam texture.

How to store:

Keep refrigerated: Good for up to 2 weeks.

Keeps 6 months frozen.

Note: This jam is perfect on fruit bowls, toast and sorbets. It works as a freezer jam, but not for canning.

    love raw jam!!! just wondering why you call it sugar free when there is honey in it. honey is comprised mainly of fructose and glucose.

  2. I was wondering if I can use this with concord grapes? I have a grape arbor and it is producing nice grapes this year.

  4. I see that there is no cooking with your recipe as there is with other jam and chia seed recipes. Will this work as well?

      This is a RAW jam. No cooking, this is why it is very important to refrigerate or freeze. Hope this helps. All we can say: It it delicious 🙂

  5. Honey definitely gives jam a very “honey-ey” flavor. And as this does not have the correct acid/sugar balance in it to be safe at room temperature, make sure you only make a small amount, and eat it quickly even if it is refrigerated.

      This is a raw jam and the blueberry flavor off sets the honey taste. This is to be refrigerated or frozen only and it is not an internet recipe, but one we make ourselves. Try it and you will love it. It keeps one week refrigerated and 6 months frozen. Thanks for visiting 🙂

  7. Sounds wonderful! How long do you soak the chia seeds for? I can’t tell if it’s supposed to say 1 minute or 10.

  8. Muscadine season is coming and I love them! Can muscadines be substituted for blueberries?
