Cancer-fighting pineapple kale juice

This cancer-fighting pineapple kale juice is packed with antioxidants, which fight free radicals known to increase the risk of cancer.

There are some natural extracts with much less side effects than chemotherapy, which have a trait called “selective toxicity.” This means that these compounds can kill cancer cells without harming other tissues.

One of these said compounds is called bromelain, which is an enzyme found in pineapples. Research published in 2007 found that pineapple extract may kill cancer cells, and was superior to chemotherapy in animals.

The researchers noted: “This antitumoral effect [of bromelain] was superior to that of 5-FU [5-fluorouracil], whose survival index was approximately 263 %, relative to the untreated control.”

Pineapple is a delicious summer fruit and an important part of an anti-cancer diet. Let’s take a closer look at the rest of the ingredients in this cancer-fighting pineapple kale juice.

Kale:
Kale is packed with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents and may help fight cancer. Like all cruciferous vegetables, kale is also a great source of glucosinolates, which in a study published in the International Journal of Cancer showed potential anti-cancer benefits.

Lemons:
They are often used in detox diets because of their ability to aid in digestion, clean the system, and flush out unwanted toxins from the body. Lemons are high in pectin fiber, which absorbs water and flushes it out of your system, which helps you lose weight.

Spinach:
It is one of the most nutritiously packed foods on earth, and is a star in the cruciferous vegetable family.

Directions:

Process the following ingredients in a juicer:

1/4 of a pineapple
1 cup of kale
1/2 cup of spinach
1 lemon, peeled

Make sure ingredients are organic
