Can turmeric help with diabetes?

It is safe to say, there is no spice in the world known by scientists that is more powerful for health than turmeric. Can turmeric help with diabetes?

Turmeric has received a lot of attention lately due to the power of social media and the overwhelming number of studies on the potent spice.

MEDLINE, the medical study database for example has over 10,000 studies on turmeric alone.

There is medical evidence that turmeric may be good for people with diabetes.

A scientific review published in the journal Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine looked at data on the connection between diabetes and turmeric.

The researchers found that turmeric may help control blood sugar. Animal studies showed that taking turmeric could have a positive effect on high blood sugar.

Tests also showed that turmeric was able to help improve levels of insulin sensitivity.

The researchers concluded that taking turmeric orally may be beneficial for patients with diabetes.

Researchers also have found that turmeric may even help prevent diabetes before it starts. One study published in the journal Diabetes Care found that people with pre-diabetes for 9 months were less likely to develop full diabetes.

A study published in the journal Diabetology & Metabolic Syndrome showed that turmeric may even help reverse type 1 diabetes.

The study found that diabetic rats who received curcumin for 40 days showed an improvement in blood sugar levels and insulin. The improvement began after 4 months, and continued to improve at the 10 month mark when all levels almost normalized, and regeneration of the pancreas was observed.
