  • Our jewelry is precious and we need to take care of it too. Most store bought jewelry cleaners have toxic chemicals. They may leave residue that can end up on our skin and trigger skin allergies such as eczema, rashes and psoriasis.
  • This homemade jewelry cleaner is simple and inexpensive. It uses ingredients such as baking soda, lemons, and salt.
  • These are things we all have in our kitchen.
  • This recipe is very effective and is used by consciencious professional jewelers everywhere.
  • What you need to make this homemade jewelry cleaner:
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon chemical free dishwashing liquid such as Dishmate
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 cup water
  • Directions: 
  • Boil water for 2 minutes
  • Pour the hot water into a bowl and let cool
  • Add the salt, baking soda, lemon, and dishwashing liquid into the bowl
  • Place jewelry in the mixture
  • Let it sit for 10 minutes
  • Rinse jewelry in cool water and dry it completely with a soft cloth
  • Discard the solution after use
  • Tip: This works for gold, brass, silver, and sterling silver.
  • For 40 baking soda uses.
