Spring is a beautiful season of transition from cold to warmer weather.

1. Clean hard water stains with a lemon:

Simply cut a lemon in half and rub it on hard water stains. These stains are especially common on showerheads and faucets. The acids in the lemon will cut through hard water stains without ruining the metal or glass.

2. Synthetic-free dryer sheets on glass:

Use dryer sheets to clean shower glass, mirrors, and other glass in the house. It is a great way to save money and avoid toxic chemicals in window cleaner solutions. Make sure to use a non-toxic dryer sheet.

3. Window squeegee for pet fur:

Use a window squeegee to get rid of pet fur on carpets.

Simply drag the squeegee across the carpet and voilà!

4. Cleaning cast iron with salt:

Scrub your cast iron skillets with a soft sponge and a coarse salt. The salt is an abrasive and will get rid of oils and food, while preserving the skillet.

Then rinse the salt and dry.

Mix 3 cups of  white vinegar with 6 cups of water.

Put a filter in your coffee pot. Turn the coffee maker on and let the solution run completely through.

10. Bay leaf trick:

To keep bugs away your grains, add bay leaves all around your pantry. The bay leaves act as a natural bug repellent.

11. Make a natural air freshener:

Using ingredients like cloves or vinegar will help you avoid toxic chemicals, save money, and kill odor-causing bacteria in your house.

12. Baking soda for laundry:

Add 1/2 cup of baking soda to your laundry to increase the effectiveness of your organic laundry detergent.

13. Epsom salt on tiles and grouts:

Mix equal parts of Epsom salt and organic liquid dish soap and use it to scrub tiles and grouts. Make sure to rinse well.

14. Laundry solutions:

Try making your own organic laundry detergents and fabric softeners.

15. Mold and mildew spray:

As recommended on Dr. Oz combine 2 tsp of tea tree oil and 2 cups of water in a spray bottle and spray in areas that have mold and mildew. Do not rinse. The tea tree oil has antifungal properties.

Use Hydrogen Peroxide instead of bleach in your washer dispenser.

Mix 2 tbps of HP with 2 tbsps of Borax.

You can also use to clean your white porcelain sinks and tubs. Make sure it is 3% hydrogen peroxide.
