Anti-aging skin smoothie

Anti-aging skin smoothie

  • Aging is something that comes with time, is natural but you can slow down the process with the right diet, adopting a healthy lifestyle and the proper skincare and body care.
Aging can be caused by stress, environmental factors, poor diet, smoking, and much more. Antioxidants help slow down the aging process by reducing the effects of oxidative stress, so it is key to include antioxidant-rich foods in our diet as well as on your skin.
  • The sun is also major contributing factor when it pertains to aging skin  and wearing a sunscreen daily is key.
  • Avocado:
  • Avocados are packed with fatty acids, antioxidants and minerals, which keep the skin healthy, nourished and glowing.
  • Apples:
  • Like many fruits and vegetables, apples contain compounds called polyphenols. These compounds work as antioxidants, protecting the cells from the effects of oxidative stress.
  • Celery:
  • The nutrients in celery help lower the blood pressure and reduce stress, keeping skin from aging. Celery also works as a diuretic, flushing out toxins that harm the skin.
  • Cucumbers:
  • They are an excellent source of caffeic acid and vitamin C, two antioxidants with anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce skin irritations. Cucumbers are also water foods and help rehydrate the body and skin which is key when it comes to anti-aging. A dry skin ages faster.
  • Spinach:
  • It is a great source of antioxidants, which will help keep your skin hydrated, and supple. Spinach remains a champion when it comes to its nutritional value.
  • Green Tea:
  • It has anti aging, anti- inflammatory properties and is packed with and oxidants.
  • Green tea contains polyphenols and six  types of catechins, with epigallocatechins gallate (EGCG) and (ECG) being the most potent. Antioxidants are molecules that can fight free radicals.
